Foundation - Level 2:
Snakehandler programs for this level are designed to fulfil most of the requirements for achieving the Learning Intentions for Science, in the following points we are able to engage the students so that this achievement is measurable. Our interactive program (90 minutes) allows the students to work cooperatively, discussing ideas and concepts, work from a starting question and developing inquiry ideas of their own. They will use the sense to assist them, such as feeling the animals, observing their movements, smelling the foods and animals.
We aim to link the concept of the basics of life, food, water and shelter and how not only do we as humans need these things, but so do animals, and many of the foods they eat, so do we! We will examine the concepts of nocturnal activity and diurnal activity as well as why reptiles stop feeding at certain times of the year, linking seasons, temperature and the way an animal maintains body temperature.
