Reptile Husbandry
Reptile Keeping Training: Evolved for Today
Comprehensive Online Courses from Snakehandler
For many years, Snakehandler has delivered face-to-face training in reptile care and husbandry to enthusiasts across Australia, with courses previously held in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Townsville. In response to increasing demand and the travel limitations brought on by COVID-19, we have reimagined our approach, resulting in the development of a dynamic new online course.
Our latest course has been meticulously designed by Snakehandler's Directors in collaboration with our highly skilled and experienced staff. This resource is rich in essential information for reptile keepers, providing everything needed to successfully maintain and care for your collection. Oversight of the course development was provided by Stuart, a valued member of our team with extensive zoo experience, a Degree in Animal Science, and a Certificate in Captive Animal Management.
Within this course, participants will gain knowledge on:
· Legally permitted reptile species for private ownership
· Key considerations when acquiring new animals
· Handling techniques for captive reptiles
· Diet and nutritional requirements
· Enclosure design and setup
· Health monitoring and common medical issues
· And much more
As we continue to expand our content library, new modules, videos, and resources will be added to the course—at no additional cost to enrolled students. This evolving approach ensures our learners always have access to the most up-to-date and comprehensive guidance available.
Whether you are new to reptile keeping or seeking to deepen your expertise, our course offers an engaging and effective way to build your knowledge and confidence in caring for these remarkable animals.
